Settings are organized into tabs along the top of the page. Most changes save immediately as you make them — there's no page-wide "Save" button, aside from the Users tab's add/edit form. Some tabs are marked with ✦ when your account isn't Premium-licensed, meaning the feature is available but limited.
General
Appearance:
- Theme - pick from a set of color themes.
- Thumbnail size - how large album/artist thumbnails appear throughout the app.
- Use small nav bar, Show queue in sidebar, Always show right sidebar, Show album overlays - layout preferences (these are saved on this device only, not synced to your account).
System:
- Language
- Auto-calculate BPM, Auto-download artist info, Auto-download lyrics - toggle automatic background enrichment of your library.
- Clear play queue on play - device-only preference.
- A Check for new version button, which tells you whether an update is available.
Library
- Scan Now - triggers an immediate full library scan (disabled while a scan is already running, with a live status).
- Library Paths - the list of root folders Streamer scans. Each has a toggle to include/exclude it from scanning, and a delete button. Add new folders with the input field below the list.
Auto-Queue
Controls what happens automatically when your play queue is about to run out:
- Turn auto-queueing on or off.
- Mode - how the next tracks are chosen: Random Album, Random Tracks from the Same Artist, Same Genre, Same Release Year, Random Tracks generally, Similar Tracks, or drawn From a Smart Playlist (pick which one).
- Maintain at least N tracks - how many upcoming tracks to always keep queued.
- Retain at most N previous tracks — how much play history to keep in the queue (from none, up to "Retain All").
Album Collections (requires tag-edit permission)
Manage the names of your custom album collections - simple, database-only groupings you can use to organize albums into curated lists elsewhere in the app. This tab handles creating, renaming, and deleting collections; it doesn't touch any files.
Users (requires user-management permission)
Full user management: add, edit, and delete accounts. Editing a user lets you set their name, username, and password, and toggle individual permissions - managing users, adding/updating the library, editing tags and album collections, and per-view access (which sections of the app, like Releases, Artists, Playlists, etc., they're allowed to use). This is the one tab with explicit Save/Cancel buttons rather than auto-save. The default user and your own currently logged-in account can't be deleted.
Capitalizer (requires tag-edit permission)
Configures automatic capitalization applied while editing tags (see the Tagging Files (#) article). Basic capitalization is available to everyone; customizing the rules and delimiters used requires Premium.
Country Flags
Manually assign or override the country flag shown next to an artist's name throughout the app. This is a database-only display setting - it doesn't touch any audio file and doesn't require tag-edit permission, but editing entries requires Premium.
Advanced
- Direct Play - off by default. When enabled, the browser plays files it already supports natively without asking the server to double-check first, slightly reducing overhead on fast connections. It doesn't let unsupported formats skip transcoding - those are always converted regardless of this setting. This is saved per-browser, not synced across devices.
- Shows which audio formats your current browser supports natively.
