Track Insights
Track Insights gives you a rich, at-a-glance overview of your entire music library. It surfaces statistics, highlights forgotten gems, and lets you explore your listening habits — all from one place.
Opening Track Insights
You can open Track Insights in two ways:
- Go to the Tracks view.
- Click the light bulb (Insights) button on the right side of the toolbar.
Alternatively, you can navigate directly to Track Insights from the menu bar via View > Insights.
Spotlight Track
At the top of Track Insights, Helium picks a random track from your 150 most-played songs and puts it in the spotlight. The card displays:
- Album art
- Track title, artist name, and album name
- Release year
- Star rating and favourite status
- How many times you played the track in the last 90 days, and all time
Use the Play Now button to start playing the spotlight track immediately. Click Shuffle to have Helium pick a different track from your most-played list.
Several items on the spotlight card are clickable and take you straight to more information:
- Artist name — opens the Artist Details page for that artist.
- Album name — opens the Album Details page.
- Release year — opens the Year view filtered to that year.
KPI Cards
Six summary tiles appear below the spotlight, giving you key numbers about your library at a glance.

| Total Tracks | The total number of tracks in your library. |
| Never Played | Tracks you have never listened to. |
| Top Rated | Tracks rated 4.5 stars or higher. |
| Total Duration | The combined play time of all tracks, in hours. |
| Played This Month | Tracks you have played in the last 30 days. |
| Favourites | Tracks you have marked as a favourite. |
Four of the cards are clickable. Clicking Never Played, Top Rated, Played This Month, or Favourites opens the Tracks view pre-filtered to show exactly those tracks, so you can act on them straight away.
Rediscover
The Rediscover section shows six randomly selected albums from your library, encouraging you to revisit music you may have overlooked. Each card displays:
- Album art (hover over it to see a larger view)
- An Unplayed badge if none of the album's tracks have ever been played
- Track title, artist name, star rating, and favourite status
Click any album card to open its Album Details page. Click the artist name inside a card to open that artist's Artist Details page. Click Shuffle to load six different albums.
Current View Breakdown
These three bar charts summarise the tracks that were visible in the Tracks view when you opened Track Insights. If you had a filter or search active at the time, the charts reflect only those results.
- By Rating — groups tracks into four bands: ★ 5, ★ 4–4.5, ★ 3–3.5, and below ★ 3.
- By Length — groups tracks by duration: under 3 min, 3–4 min, 4–5 min, 5–7 min, and 7+ min.
- By Release Type — shows the top 8 release types in your current view (for example, Album, Single, or EP).
Tracks by Genre
This bar chart shows the 10 most common genres across your entire library. Click any genre label to open the Genre view filtered to that genre, where you can browse all matching tracks.
Tracks by Decade
This bar chart groups all tracks in your library by the decade they were released — for example, 1980s or 1990s — arranged in chronological order. Use it to get a quick sense of how your collection is spread across different eras.
