Genre Insights
Genre Insights gives you a rich overview of the music genres in your library — from listening habits and album counts to artists you may have forgotten about. There are two places where Genre Insights appears: a full-page dashboard covering your entire library, and a focused tab that appears when you select an individual genre.
Library-Wide Genre Insights
The library-wide Genre Insights page shows statistics and discoveries drawn from your entire collection. To open it, select View > Insights > Genre Insights from the menu bar.
Note: This page requires a Premium licence. If you do not have a Premium licence, a prompt will appear in place of the dashboard.
Spotlight Genre
At the top of the page, a featured genre is displayed with a collage of up to six artist photos, the genre name, and the number of albums it contains.
- Click the genre name to navigate to that genre in the Genres view.
- Click Shuffle to feature a different randomly selected genre.
KPI Cards
Six summary tiles give you a quick snapshot of your library:

| Total Genres | The total number of genres in your library. Click to open the Genres view. |
| Unexplored | Genres with no tracks played this month. Click to filter the Genres view to those genres. |
| Top Genre | The genre with the most albums, shown as a percentage of your whole library. Click to navigate to that genre. |
| Hours Listened | Your total listening time across all albums, in hours. |
| Growing | The genre you have played most often this month. Click to navigate to that genre. |
| Albums | The total number of albums in your library. |
Rediscover
This section highlights six randomly selected artists from a single randomly chosen genre, helping you revisit music you may not have played in a while.
- The genre name in the section header is clickable and navigates to that genre in the Genres view.
- Click any artist card to open that artist’s detail page.
- Click Shuffle to load a different genre and a fresh set of six artists.
Genre Breakdown
A horizontal bar chart displays up to ten of your genres by album count. Click any bar to navigate to that genre in the Genres view.
Top Genres
A ranked list of your top ten genres by album count. Positions one through three are highlighted. Each row shows the genre name, its album count, and the total hours of tracks you have not yet listened to.
- Click any row to navigate to that genre in the Genres view.
Per-Genre Insights
When you select a genre in the Genres view, an Insights tab appears alongside the track list. This tab focuses entirely on that genre.
Spotlight Album
A randomly selected album from the genre is featured with its cover art, title, artist name, and release year.
- Click the album name to open the Album Details page.
- Click Shuffle to feature a different album from the same genre.
KPI Cards
Six tiles summarise the selected genre:

| Albums | Number of albums in this genre. |
| Artists | Number of distinct artists in this genre. |
| Tracks | Number of tracks in this genre. |
| Hours Unlistened | Total duration of tracks in this genre that you have never played, in hours. |
| Most Active Decade | The decade that has the most albums in this genre (for example, 1990s). |
| Total Plays | All-time play count for this genre. |
Rediscover Artists
Six randomly selected artists from this genre are shown as clickable cards.
- Click any artist card to open that artist’s detail page.
- Click Shuffle to load a different set of six artists.
Albums by Decade
A bar chart groups the genre’s albums by decade in chronological order, giving you a visual sense of when your collection for this genre was most active. This chart is for reference only and is not clickable.
Top Played Artists
A ranked bar chart shows up to ten of the most-played artists in this genre.
