Introduction
Album Insight gives you a detailed snapshot of a single album, all in one place. Open any album in Helium, click the Insight tab, and Helium automatically loads statistics, genres, a track chart, a review, and related album recommendations for that album. There is nothing to configure — the data appears the first time you view the tab.
Usage
To open Album Insight:
- Open Helium and browse to the album you want to explore.
- Click the album to open its detail page.
- Click the Insight tab at the top of the detail page.
The following items are interactive:
- Genre badges — Click any genre badge to open the Genre view for that genre, where you can browse all albums and tracks sharing that genre.
- Similar Releases cards — Click an album card to open that album’s detail page. Click the artist name on a card to open that artist’s detail page.
- Similar Releases shuffle — Click the Shuffle button to display a different selection of related albums from the available pool, without reloading the page.
- Review links — Any hyperlinks within an album review open in your default web browser.
All other elements on the tab are for display only.
KPI Cards
Six summary tiles appear at the top of the Insight tab. They update automatically to reflect your library data.
- Tracks — The total number of tracks on the album.
- Total Plays — The combined all-time play count across every track on the album.
- Duration — The total running time of the album.
- Avg Rating — The average star rating across all tracks that have been rated.
- Favourites — The number of tracks on the album you have marked as a favourite.
- Unplayed — The number of tracks on the album you have never played.
Top Tracks
The Top Tracks chart shows up to six of the album’s most-played tracks as proportional bars, making it easy to see at a glance which tracks you return to most often. This section only appears when at least one track on the album has been played. If you have not yet played anything from the album, the chart is hidden.
Genres
The Genres section displays a badge for every genre found across the album’s tracks. Each badge shows the genre name and the number of tracks on this album that belong to it. Click a badge to open the Genre view and explore other music in your library that shares that genre.
Album Review
When a review is available for the album, it appears here with full text formatting. If no review exists, this section is not shown. Any links within the review text open in your default web browser.
Similar Releases
Under the heading Releases You Might Also Enjoy, Helium displays up to 12 related album cards. Each card shows the album artwork, album name, and artist name.
- Click an album card to open that album’s detail page.
- Click an artist name to open that artist’s detail page.
- Click Shuffle to swap in a fresh selection of related albums without leaving the page.
