Customizing Templates in the Advanced Tag Editor

You can personalize the Advanced Tag Editor by customizing its active template.

To begin customizing a template, click the Edit Template... button to open the Template Editor.

Tabs

At the top of the Template Editor, you'll find a drop-down list showing all the tabs in the template.

  • Create a new tab: Click the New button.
  • Edit the active tab: Click the Edit button.
  • Remove the active tab: Click the Delete button.

Each tab can have between one and four columns of equal width, displayed beside these buttons.

Reorder tabs:

  • Click the Up button to move the active tab up.
  • Click the Down button to move the active tab down.

Fields

The Template Editor has two lists:

  • Available Fields: Displays fields not yet assigned to any tab.
To add a field to the active tab, click the Add button or double-click the field in the list.
  • Selected Fields: Displays fields already included in the active tab.
To remove a field, click the Remove button or double-click the field in the list.
To reorder fields within the tab, use the Up and Down buttons.

Extras

  • Add Blank: Inserts a blank control in the selected fields list. This is useful for multi-column layouts when you want an empty line for specific alignment.
  • Span input:
The span input controls how many columns the selected field should span. If the value is zero, no span will be applied.

Loading and Saving Templates

  • Load: Click to load a previously saved template.
  • Save As...: Click to save the current template under a new name.
