Player

  • Output device allows you to select a specific output device. If you do not hear any sound whilst playing a file, please make sure that the proper output device is selected.
  • Playback Buffer (ms) controls the buffer length for music playback. A recommended value is calculated and displayed below. It is advised to use the smallest buffer size possible unless your system experiences latency during playback. Larger buffer sizes can negatively impact real-time DSP and FX features, such as Replay Gain, equalizer, and pitch adjustments.
  • If Stop when a track has finished playing is selected, playback will not continue to play the next track when a track is played
  • Select Calculate Bpm when playing tracks with no bpm to automatically calculate the bpm for the track currently being played. The calculated bpm will be stored in your library and on tags.
  • Change the value in Update play counter after X seconds to control how much time that's required for the play counter to increase.

Lyrics

  • Auto download lyrics when playing a track without lyrics will try to download lyrics for that track when set. First Helium will try to download synchronized lyrics and if no synchronized lyrics are found, Helium will try to download plain lyrics.
  • Download exact matches only will require that lyrics are matched with the playing tracks length to be considered as a match.
  • Apply downloaded lyrics to tags will save downloaded lyrics to tags and library when set.
Crossfade
  • Use Crossfade enables crossfading when starting a new song. You can adjust the length of the crossfade and specify when it should start using the settings below. Crossfade values are measured in seconds.

Crossfading can also be toggled directly from the player.
